Easy to use, easy to wash

The Diaper cover with insert is a popular choice amongst parents who use cloth nappies. It is a flexible and cost-effective nappy system suitable for both beginners and more experienced users. The system consists of two parts: a waterproof diaper cover and an absorbent insert, which are placed inside the cover. This guide explains how the system works, its benefits and how to use it in everyday life.

Diaper cover – the waterproof cover

Pul stands for polyurethane laminate, a material that is waterproof yet breathable. The shell is the outer layer that prevents leaks and keeps clothes dry. Pul-skalen are flexible and can be adjusted in size using buttons or Velcro, meaning they can be used for a long time as your child grows.

The pads – the absorbent core

The inserts are the part that absorbs moisture. They are placed directly inside the pul-skal and are available in various materials, such as cotton, bamboo or hemp. Each material has its own unique properties:

Bamboo Soft, environmentally friendly and highly absorbent.
Cotton Natural material, quick absorption, often as the top layer.
Empty Absorbs large amounts over longer periods.

Advantages

Snap in one system

You can choose insert depending on your child’s needs and circumstances, for example, a thinner insert during the day and a thicker one at night.

As the shell can be reused several times, you save money compared to disposable nappies or other cloth nappy systems.

Less washing and wear on the materials contribute to a reduced environmental impact.

Step-by-step usage

Prepare the nappy: Place an absorbent insert inside the pul-skal. You can use one or more inserts, depending on how much your child usually wets themselves.

Put on the nappy Put the pul-skalet on your child and adjust the size using the buttons or Velcro fastenings. The suit should fit comfortably but snugly around the legs and waist.

Nappy change When the insert is wet, remove it and replace it with a new insert. As long as the pul-skal is not dirty, it can be reused several times before it needs washing.

Washing of diaper cover

Washing and caring for your Diaper cover and insert correctly will extend their lifespan and ensure they perform at their best. The insoles and outer shells can be machine-washed at 60 degrees using a gentle detergent that does not contain bleach or fabric softener. The Diaper cover should be air-dried to preserve its waterproof coating. The inserts are also best hung to dry, but can also be tumble-dried on a low heat setting.
