Hi!
This is the first post on the Green Poppy blog and perhaps also the start of something new, a little more personal. A place where I want to share more than just products. Here I will write about cloth nappies, sustainability, parenthood, laundry, everyday life and all those things that fit into life with young children.
Green Poppy was born out of a desire to make more conscious choices. Not perfect, but better. Especially when it comes to the very closest we have, our children. We care so much about these little darlings, even during pregnancy, and it's a given for many to continue making good choices for them outside the womb too. What is good, however, varies greatly from person to person.
Why cloth nappies
For me, cloth nappies aren't just about the environment, although that aspect is important. It's also about a baby's skin, about reducing unnecessary chemicals, and about daring to question the throwaway culture that often comes with toddlerhood. I've also discovered that when I, and many others like me, start using cloth nappies, more sustainable choices tend to follow. Suddenly, it doesn't feel strange at all to start using cloth pads or reusable bags and the like. And that's something I think is amazing. How small choices influence more and more choices, until it actually makes a difference.
So even though cloth nappies might seem more complicated at first, they quickly become a natural part of everyday.
Everyday sustainability
Sustainability is a word that can feel big and sometimes overwhelming. Here, I want to talk about sustainability in a way that actually works in reality. Small steps, realistic choices, and solutions that are livable even when you're tired and have your hands full.
This could involve cloth nappies, but also washing, material choices, perfume-free baby care, and how to reduce waste without making life more difficult.

A place for curious and conscious parents
Whether you already use cloth nappies, are curious, or simply want to make more conscious choices in everyday life, I hope you’ll feel at home here.
